7 Facts About Felicia Day: Mastermind Behind The Guild, New York Times Bestselling-Author, Star of Supernatural, Mother of a Daughter

Felicia Day is an American actress, and writer. The self-professed "queen of the geeks" was born on June 28, 1979, as Kathryn Felicia Day

She was an internet celebrity before being an internet celebrity was cool. An innovator: she created, wrote, acted in, directed, and produced the web series, The Guild.

She became a pop-culture phenomenon with her appearances in Buffy the Vampire Slayer and Supernatural.

Here are seven facts about Felicia Day:

7. Mother to Daughter, Calliope Maeve, with Mystery Boyfriend

On January 3, 2017, Felicia announced that she was due to give birth to her first child within the next few weeks. On January 30, 2017, she gave birth to a daughter at age 37, named Calliope Maeve.

The name of the father, however, still remains a mystery. In fact, there are entire subreddits dedicated to who the potential father might be, as Felicia has kept her private life notoriously closely-guarded.

6.Played Vi in Buffy the Vampire Slayer

Felicia was already a known name within the niche comic-book contingent, but she became a part of the wider pop-culture movement with her role as Violet (Vi) in the supernatural-drama series, Buffy the Vampire Slayer.

Vi was introduced in the episode 11 of the show's seventh and final season, and went on to be an enduring character during the show's swan song.

Buffy the Vampire Slayer is part of pop-culture history in its significance and its influence that can be felt to this day, and Felicia is part of that history!

5. Played Charlie Bradbury in Supernatural

Despite being meek and introverted, a trait that would be translated into her on-screen characters, Felicia has managed to break the typecast, first by her appearance in Buffy the Vampire Slayer, which was then solidified by her appearance in the dark-fantasy-thriller series, Supernatural

As Charlie Bradbury, the timid computer-nerd with a penchant for LARPing (Live Action Role-playing), Day provided a much needed dichotomy from the show's leads: two monster-hunting, Impala-driving, hyper-macho brothers Winchester.

She quickly became a fan-favorite and her episodes provided a light-hearted escape from the otherwise grim and intense show.

She made her first appearance in episode 20 of the seventh season and -- as testament to her staying-power -- she has been a recurring character ever since, with her latest appearance coming as recently November 2018, during the show's fourteenth season.

4. Creator, Writer, Actor, Director, and Producer of The Guild

For as revered as her typecast-breaking performances in  Buffy the Vampire Slayer and Supernatural are, Felicia is never more as home as she is, playing a gamer -- something she enjoys in real-life.

Fans got to see the full extent of that creative genius in the web series, The Guild.  A show that loosely resembles her own experience as a gamer, Day was the mastermind behind the show: writing, acting, producing for the acclaimed comedy web series.

The show was a critical hit and went on to have six successful seasons, racking up six Streamy Awards and four IAWTV Awards, along with numerous other accolades in the process.

3. Authored the Memoir, You're Never Weird on the Internet (Almost): A Memoir

Felicia's quirky and colorful life was the impetus behind her 2015 memoir, You're Never Weird on the Internet (Almost): A Memoir. The New York Times Bestselling-memoir highlighted her upbringing, her struggles, and her meteoric rise to Internet superstardom.

Besides the memoir, she also authored the book, Embrace Your Weird: Face Your Fears and Unleash Creativity, which also became a New York Times Bestselling-book.

She has also written numerous books to expand on the world she created with The Guild

2. Writer and Voice-Over Actor of Dragon Age: Redemption

Felicia has lent her voice to bring to life numerous on-screen animated characters.

Her most notable voice-over work include her work for such animated TV series as Generator Rex, Fish Hooks, Dan Vs., The High Fructose Adventures of Annoying Orange, Adventure Time, We Bare Bears, Miles from Tomorrowland, and Robot Chicken.

She is also part of the main voice cast of the Netflix computer-animated web series, Skylanders Academy, which features voice work from Justin Long, Ashley Tisdale, and Jonathan Banks.

She also voiced Tallis in the web series, Dragon Age: Redemption, based on the video game franchise, Dragon Age, along with writing and co-producing for the web series.

1. Has a Net Worth of $1 Million

She wears the moniker of "queen of the geeks" with pride. But despite her penchant for video games and comic books, she has not let herself be typecast and has appeared in such thriller dramas as Supernatural and Buffy the Vampire Slayer.

There is little that Felicia has not done. Besides an actress, Felicia is also a writer, with a New York Times bestselling memoir to her name, as well as numerous works on The Guild franchise; a director; and producer, who, most famously, concocted the web series, The Guild, based on her experience as a gamer.
