Lenora Crichlow is an English actress. Born Lenora Isabella Crichlow on 4 January 1985, she is the daughter of civil rights activist, Frank Crichlow, and Lucy Addington

A distinguished actress, Crichlow has enjoyed a successful career in acting, both in movies and on television.

7. Stars In HBO Sci-Fi Space Comedy, Avenue 5

Lenora is one of the cast members of the science-fiction comedy series Avenue 5. The first season premiered on HBO on January 19, 2020, and is set in the distant future.   

The series is set on-board the Avenue 5, an interplanetary luxury cruise ship owned by the billionaire Herman Judd and captained by Ryan Clark. When a malfunction derails the ship off-course, the opulent crew members must find a way to maintain their sanity.

Hugh Laurie and Josh Gad play Ryan Clark and Hermann Judd, respectively, with Lenora playing Billie McEvoy, the second engineer of the cruise ship.

They are joined by Rebecca Front, Kyle Bornheimer, Zach Woodsand Jessica St. Clair, among others.

6. Her Breakthrough Role In Being Human

Crichlow had a breakthrough performance in the BBC supernatural comedy-drama, Being Human.

The basic premise of the series on IMDb reads:

"A werewolf, a vampire and a ghost try to live together and get along."

Actress Andrea Riseborough -- who was earmarked as the lead, Annie Sawyer -- dropped out after the pilot, upon which Lenora stepped in as the replacement.

She played the ghost Annie Sawyer, who shares a flat with a werewolf and a vampire as they try to live a "normal" life. Annie went on to have the most appearances out of all other cast members.

The series had a highly-successful five-season run from February 18, 2008, to March 10, 2013, during which many careers were kick-started, but perhaps none more so than that of Lenora.

5. Crichlow Dated Her Being Human Co-Star, Aidan Turner, For Two Years

Being Human was monumental for Crichlow, not just for effectively helping her breakthrough into the industry, but also for helping her find love.

She had a two-year relationship with her co-star, Aidan Turner, whom she met on the show. Co-incidentally, Turner was also a replacement like Crichlow, who stepped in when Guy Flanagan dropped out of the role of the vampire, John Mitchell.

Aidan left the show in March 2011, around the same time his relationship with Crichlow ended. It has not been confirmed whether their falling out as a couple had anything to do with his exiting the show, or if it was just another coincidence.

4. Starred In An Episode Of Black Mirror

Crichlow continued to own the screen with another phenomenal performance in the dystopian science-fiction anthology series, Black Mirror.

She was the lead of the second episode of Black Mirror season 2, titled "White Bear". Crichlow played Victoria, a woman who wakes up in a dystopian world where people are controlled by a television signal. She wakes with no recollection of who she is or how she got there.

The episode received rave reviews and was viewed by 1.2 million viewers in the UK. 

3. Her Character In Sugar Rush Inspired A Julie Burchill Novel 

Lenora was the star of yet another comedy-drama series, Sugar Rush. The series is based on the eponymous novel by English author, Julie Burchill, and follows the life of 15-year-old Kim Daniels who moves to Brighton from London.

Lenora plays Maria "Sugar" Sweet, the best friend and the sexual obsession of Kim Daniels. 

Lenora's performance as Maria "Sugar" Sweet inspired Julie to such a degree that she wrote a spin-off novel titled Sweet in 2007, based on Lenora's portrayal. 

2. Set To Play Maria Russo In The Upcoming Marvel Movie, Morbius

Lenora is set to play Maria Russo in the upcoming superhero movie, Morbius, based on the Marvel Comics character of the same name. 

The movie will star Jared Leto as the titular character, Michael Morbius: an anti-hero superhero who, in the process of curing a blood disease, becomes afflicted with vampirism.

Lenora's character, Maria Russo, is the neighbor of Morbius.   

The movie's release has been pushed back to March 19, 2021, from July 2020 due to the coronavirus pandemic.
