Carlos Jaime Alazraqui, 57, is a veteran comedian, voice artist, actor, singer-songwriter, and impressionist. 

One of the most recognizable voices in the world, courtesy of his extensive voice-over work in movies, television shows, and advertisements, he is credited with over 338 titles in various media.  

Most recently, he is set to lend his voice to the upcoming animated TV series Fast & Furious: Spy Racers. We countdown seven facts about Carlos Alazraqui.

7. Played El Chupacabra In Planes

Since 1998, Alazraqui's talent for voice-acting has been recognized in numerous movies and TV shows. 

One of his most widely-recognized performances is his voice-work as El Chupacabra in the 2013 animated movie Planes.

Additionally, he has lent his voices to such movies as A Bug's Life, Finding Nemo, Toy Story 3, Happy Feet Two, Monsters University, Inside Out, and Minions, to name a few

6. Voice Of The Taco Bell Chihuahua 

One of Alazraqui's earliest claims to fame was his stint as the Taco Bell Chihuahua in the Taco Bell commercials. The fast-food chain ran the ad that featured the voice-work from Alazraqui. The advertisement was circulated nationwide in the '90s. 

In an interview with AVClub, Alazraqui mentioned that the voice-work was his most comfortable paycheck. 

5. Father To Two Daughters With Wife Laura Mala

It is a wonder how Carlos has time for family with his prolific career, but the veteran has been married to Laura Mala since 2010.

Mala is a New Jersey native who moved to Los Angeles to make a name in entertainment production. While she may not have found much success in that department, she did find success in love. Mala and Alazraqui have two children together, both daughters.

4. Writer And Star Of His Short Movie The Last White Dishwasher

Apart from Alazraqui's voice-over work, he has also had live-action movie roles under his belt. 

One such role is his leading performance as Bobby Ray Jacobs in the 2008 mockumentary short movie, The Last White Dishwasher. Based on the concept that Alazraqui himself envisioned, the short film proved that Alazraqui was no slouch in front of the camera.

His other live-action roles include his role as Deputy James Garcia in the comedy TV show Reno 911! and its spin-off series Reno 911! Miami.

3. He Has Voiced Multiple DC Comics Characters

Since DC Comics' 2010 direct-to-video animated movie Justice League: Crisis on Two Earths, Alazraqui has voice-acted for five additional DC Comics animated features.

He lent his voice to Batman: Under the Red Hood, Justice League: Doom, Batman: The Dark Knight Returns, Batman Unlimited: Mech vs. Mutants, and Batman vs. Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles in various roles and capacities

2. Funded His Move To LA With Prize Money From A Comedy Competition

Alazraqui began performing on comedy stages while he was still a student at California State University in Sacramento, California.

He had an innate talent for comedy, and after winning his fourth consecutive San Francisco International Comedy Competition, he had enough money to fund his move to Los Angeles to pursue his career in entertainment full-time.

Carlos Alazraqui has been a prominent fixture of showbiz since the mid-'80s. His voice has been immortalized in the annals of Hollywood, courtesy of his 338 accredited roles in the movies, and on television.

As of 2020, Alazraqui is worth $4 million. Even at 57, he has hardly slowed down. On the contrary, he is set to voice-act for the Fast & Furious: Spy Racers animated TV series.
