From Logan To His Dark Materials: Career Highlights Of Acting Prodigy Dafne Keen

Dafne Keen is British actress with Spanish roots. She broke through in a big way with her stunning performance as the mutant Laura Kinney / X-23 in the 2017 superhero movie, Logan.

The 15-year-old acting prodigy can be seen on HBO's eponymous TV series adaptation of the book series by Philip Pullman, His Dark Materials as Lyra Belacqua. The series also stars Clarke Peters, Anne-Marie Duff, James McAvoy, and others in the lead.

But there is so much more about Dafne than meets the eye. In this list, we chronicle the highlights of one of Hollywood's best and brightest in Dafne Keen.

Dafne's Star-Making Turn as Laura Kinney in Logan

It is unfathomable to comprehend what Dafne Keen achieved in Logan. She played a bilingual tween mutant with retractable bone-claws and exceptional fighting skills. She also had virtually no dialogues. Oh, and did we mention that Dafne Keen was only 11 when she was cast?

Dafne's casting ranks as one of those modern Hollywood miracles. Not only did she bear a striking resemblance to the Marvel comic-book character, Dafne truly embodied the role: going above and beyond to reconcile a visceral and ferocious superhero with an innocent orphaned child.

Dafne fit right in the dystopian world created by James Mangold, realized through stellar performances by Hugh Jackman in his final outing as James Logan/Wolverine, and Sir Patrick Stewart as Professor Charles Xavier.

Stars as Lyra Belacqua in HBO's His Dark Materials

It is hard to think of anything as successful as Logan as a stepping-stone, but for Dafne, that was exactly what it was!

Keen's role in Logan catapaulted her to such mainstream heights that she was cast as the lead character, Lyra Belacqua, in HBO's fantasy drama TV series, His Dark Materials.

Based on the eponymous book series by the English Novelist, Philip Pullman, the series explores parallel universes, mystical animals called "daemons", and magic.

Dafne still stands out as the Lyra and continues to wow audiences with her preternatural acting ability.

Dan Fienberg of The Hollywood Reporter  singled out the performances by Keen and Ruth Wilson, saying:

"...this effort nails much of what makes the books pop, and both the special effects and a star-studded cast led by Dafne Keen and Ruth Wilson are in fine form."

Made Her Acting Debut Alongside her Father in The Refugees

First impressions are an important part of an artist's résumé, for you never know if it will be your last.

Dafne made a big splash on her debut, playing Ana "Ani" Cruz Oliver in the 2014 TV series The Refugees alongside her real-life father, Will Keen. She appeared in seven out of the eight episodes broadcasted on BBC.

Dafne's mother is also an actress, theatre director, and writer María Fernández Ache.

Dafne Keen's Net Worth

Dafne's net worth is still under review, but according to multiple sources, she is estimated to be worth $400k. Not a shabby figure, considering the star is still in her early teens.

Her most successful project to date is Logan, which was a commercial success, grossing $619 million at the box office. She also has a regular gig with HBO for their fantasy drama series The Dark Materials, which was renewed for a second season before the first even aired.
