Many people had supported the idea that the actor was the victim in the domestic abuse fiasco, but as there was no evidence to support this, so most people got on the side of the Zombieland actress, but regarding the recent evidence, Depp has gotten a lot of support.

The 56-year-old actor has filed a defamation lawsuit against his former wife. The legal team of the actor filed the complaint against an article written by Heard for the Washington Post.

A petition has also been launched with over 125,000 signatures as of 5 February 2020, to remove the actress from the upcoming Aquaman film.

Amber Heard’s History Of Domestic Abuse

The actress has been arrested in the past for domestic violence; in 2009, she was arrested by the police for misdemeanor assault in the fourth degree/domestic violence. She struck her then-girlfriend Tasya van Ree after getting into a public dispute at the airport.

Although the police department privatized her records of arrest as allowed by Washington law, the prosecutors did not press charges against the actress.

When Did The Depp-Heard Domestic Violence Fiasco Start?

All of this started when Amber Heard filed for divorce on May 23, 2016, after 15 months of marriage. They reached an agreement on August 16, 2016, reaching a $7 million settlement.
