Brandt appeared as Naevia, a loyal body slave and Crixus love interest, in the first season of television series Spartacus, Spartacus: Blood and Sand, and the prequel miniseries Spartacus: Gods of the Arena.
However, she had initially auditioned for the role of Sura, a titular character's wife. Instead, the casting director advised Brandt to audition for the role of Naevia, and she eventually joined the cast of the show as Naevia.
The 38 years old actress did not return for the second season of the Spartacus. According to her manager, Steven Jensen, Brandt left Spartacus because Brandt and Starz could not settle on the money. With The Wrap, Jenson stated, "She would like to go back, but they really haven't gotten the number we are looking for." 2. Who Is Mazikeen Based On?
Though the name Mazikeen sounds biblical, it is not found in the Bible. The name Mazikeen is based on the term "Mazzikin," which, according to Jewish mythology, represents invisible demons that create minor annoyances or greater dangers.
In DC Comics, Mazikeen is a fictional character who is one of the children of the demon Lilith. The character made its live appearance in the television series Lucifer portrayed by Lesley-Ann Brandt. Mazikeen first appeared in the Sandman comic book series created by Neil Gaiman, which the series Lucifer is based on.
1. Landed In The Role Of Maze After A Table-Read
Brandt joined the cast of Netflix's Lucifer as the fierce-demon Maze in 2015. She won the part after a change was made following the pilot’s table read. The original cast of the character had been actress Lina Esco, who was released after the table read.
