Lucifer Season 6 In Doubt Over Salary Negotiations With Tom Ellis. Here Are 7 Facts You Should Know About Him.

Tom Ellis is a Welsh actor. He plays the Devil himself in the Fox series, Lucifer, based on the DC Comics publication and eponymous character.

The suave machismo he displays on Lucifer might not be all acting: Tom Ellis has found success with the ladies in his real-life as well. He is in his third marriage and has three children with his ex-wives.

Here are seven intriguing facts about Tom Ellis:

7. Tom Ellis Pride Role As Lucifer

Tom Ellis is most widely-known for playing Lucifer Morningstar in the Fox supernatural-drama series, Lucifer

Based on DC Comics' publication and adaptation of the biblical character, the series follows Lucifer -- more ubiquitously known as the Devil -- who flees from Hell to settle in what is the modern-day Los Angeles, where he runs a night club and provides counsel to the Los Angeles Police Department.

The series originally aired on Fox since January 25, 2016, but after dwindling viewership, the show was canceled on May 11, 2018, after three seasons. Netflix picked up the show and is currently in the midst of wrapping up what is expected to be the sixth and final season -- or at least it was until the COVID-19 pandemic pushed back schedules indefinitely.

Recently, reports are also surfacing about Ellis, basically holding the show hostage over salary negotiations. The turmoil surrounding the show's sixth season has only boosted the anticipation for the show.

The series also features an ensemble cast that includes, among other stars, Lauren German, Kevin Alejandro, D. B. Woodside, Lesley-Ann Brandt, Scarlett Estevez, and Rachael Harris.

6. Married To Writer And Actress Meaghan Oppenheimer

Ellis is currently in his third marriage to his wife, the American screenwriter and actress Meaghan Oppenheimer. Meaghan is credited as a writer in such shows as Queen America, Fear the Walking Dead, and Broken.

He was introduced to Meaghan via his good friend, actor James McAvoy in 2015. They dated for four years before tying the knot on June 2, 2019. Meaghan is a step-mother to Ellis' three daughters from his previous marriages.

5. Father Of Three Daughters With Ex-Wives, Tamzin Outhwaite And Estelle Morgan

Tom had been married twice previously before Meaghan. His first marriage happened with Estelle Morgan, by whom he became a father for the first time in May 2005, to daughter Nora Ellis.

Tom and Estelle divorced, after which he got married to the English actress Tamzin Outhwaite, on June 11, 2006. They had two children together: daughters Florence Elsie Ellis (born on June 17, 2008), and Marnie Mae Ellis (born on August 1, 2012).

They divorced in 2014 after rumors began circulating of Ellis having an extramarital affair. Their divorce was finalized on April 28, 2014.

4. Played Robin Hood In Once Upon a Time

Ellis' name has been so associated with Lucifer that it is easy to forget that he has had a separate television career completely unrelated to the Fox/Netflix hit; Doctor Who, Merlin, Children in Need, Gothica, and Walking Stories, being only a few of a prolific career.

He has also had prominent roles in Nice Guy Eddie, No Angels, EastEnders, and Suburban Shootout, among others.

Ellis has also played Robin Hood in the ABC fantasy-adventure drama series, Once Upon a Time.

3. He Has A Twin Sister

Tom Ellis has not had trouble scoring with the ladies. While most of it has to do with his dashing good looks and suave personality, a fair bit of it can be attributed to him being brought up in close proximity to a female household.

A look at his family tree reveals just how disproportionately the male-to-female ratio is in favor of the women.

Born Thomas John Ellis on November 17, 1978, he was the sole male child out of four born to his parents, Marilyn Jean Hooper and Christopher John Ellisand

He has a twin sister named Lucy Hawkins and two other sisters, Naomi Moody and Annwen Stone.

The coincidence doesn't stop there: all three of his children are girls!

2. He Is An accomplished Musician

If you have watched any episode of Lucifer, the first thing you undoubtedly notice is the dashing lead man playing Satan. And if you're not blinded by his machismo, the second thing you notice is his impeccable musicianship.

Lucifer indeed plays the piano as he plays with souls -- at least in the Fox show. But what you might not know is that it may not all be smoke-and-mirrors! In real life, Ellis is an accomplished musician!

He used to play the French horn in the City of Sheffield Youth Orchestra before he found fame. If his musicianship is anything like his acting, don't be surprised to learn that playing piano covers of classical rock pieces on Lucifer is the Devil himself, Tom Ellis.

1. Net Worth Of $6 Million-Salary Issues Leading To The End Of Lucifer

As of April 2020, Tom Ellis boasts an impressive net worth of $6 million; he can thank his role in Lucifer for that. He is the lead of the hit Fox/Netflix show and, as such, gets paid the most.

Recently, rumors are circulating about Ellis not being satisfied with his salary and basically holding the show hostage. The series' sixth season is in doubt due to the turmoil surrounding the salary negotiation, ramping up the anticipation for Lucifer to another level.

Besides Lucifer, Ellis has also been in shows like Doctor Who, Nice Guy Eddie, No Angels, EastEnders, Once Upon a Time, and Suburban Shootout.
