The end of the 2010s (2019) gifted fans with incredible films like The Irishman, Parasite (Oscar Best Picture Winner), Once Upon a Time in Hollywood, Marriage Story, Joker, Uncut Gems, etc. and 2020 is also set to wow audiences. Anticipation for films in 2020 created a lot of buzz and anticipation right from 2019.

The next phase of Marvel movies is set to start, and another installment on the James Bond franchise will also be released. Here is the list of the most anticipated movies of 2020. 

10. The SpongeBob Movie: Sponge On The Run      

For many, SpongeBob was a major part of their childhood, and those people will be especially pleased that the cartoon will add another movie to its feature films list with The SpongeBob Movie: Sponge on the Run.

Every movie with the loveable duo of SpongeBob and Patrick Starr is a good movie; the film is set to release on May 22, 2020.

9. Ghostbusters: Afterlife

The 3rd in the Ghostbusters franchise, Ghostbusters: Afterlife stars Paul Rudd, Mckenna Grace, Finn Wolfhard, etc. and is set to continue the Ghostbusters franchise’s comedic appeal.

The film has a release date of July 10, 2020, but the date might be affected due to the Coronavirus epidemic.

8. Fast And Furious 9 (F9)

A film filled with epicness to the brim, Fast And Furious has moved past Dwayne Johnson as the resident wrestler-actor and cast John Cena in Fast And Furious 9.

Cena is Diesel’s character’s brother in the film, and the film will release on May 22, 2020.  

7. No Time To Die

Daniel Craig said that he would not be James Bond anymore, but he is still in the lead of the 2020 film, No Time To Die.

The film has already received a lot of praise for finally giving priority to the female lead rather than just branding her a Bondgirl. Similarly, acclaimed writer Phoebe Waller-Bridge is also one of the writers on the film.      

The initial release date was for April 2020, but due to the Coronavirus epidemic, it has been pushed back to November 2020.

6. Black Widow  

The film of Natasha Romanoff’s story is coming to theatres in 2020. The film will show how the superspy played by Scarlett Johansson dealt with the problems relating to her origin and family after the events of Captain America: Civil War.

As they say, the past never leaves you, and Romanoff deals with her past and people dating long before she ever became an Avenger. The release date of the film has been set on May 1, 2020.

5. Wonder Woman 1984

Gal Gadot is set to reprise her role as Wonder Woman in the 2020 film set to release on June 5, 2020. The film is set to build on the success of the predecessor’s success.

She will go toe to toe with her hip of truth against Kristen Wiig’s portrayal of Cheetah.

4. The Eternals 

Another Marvel release of 2020, the Eternals, is a film set to continue the legacy of the heroes after the Endgame. The film is set to release on November 6, 2020. 

They will be the protagonist counterpart to the evil Deviants, both of whom are secretly living on earth and have been living on earth for over 7000 years. Richard Madden, Gemma Chan, Kumail Nanjiani, Kit Harington, and Salma Hayek are among the diverse and stellar casts.

3. Dune

A science-fiction epic starring Timothée Chalamet will be released in 2020, exciting fans of the Call Me By Your Name star. Viewers beware, no peaches were harmed during the filming of Dune even though it features Timothée Chalamet.

Thanos actor Josh Brolin and the incredible young actress Zendaya are also set to play on the film set to be released on December 18, 2020.

2. French Dispatch

Wes Anderson along with a stellar cast featuring Benicio del Toro, Adrien Brody, Frances McDormand, Timothée Chalamet, Bill Murray, Owen Wilson among others with French Dispatch, a film described as an “a love letter to journalists set at an outpost of an American newspaper in a fictional 20th-century French city".

The film has a release date of July 24, 2020, in the USA and has a reported budget of $25 million.
